The Groove is a new competitive, travel lacrosse club based in Nashville, Tennessee.  We had a great start with our first Boys U15 team in the fall of 2007. Our plan is to grow the club and help grow the sport of lacrosse in Middle Tennessee. 

We will support and complement the existing middle school and high-school based lacrosse programs in the area. If lacrosse is one of your son’s favorite sports and you’re looking for a way to provide him with the best coaching and competition possible (in addition to his school’s team), we may be the right club for your son and your family. 

Tryouts for the 2008 Boys U15 team will take place on Tuesday, 5/6 and Thursday, 5/8 following the middle school season.  Tryouts and practices will be held at Granny White Park, next to Brentwood Middle School, located at 610 Granny White Pike.  All experienced 7th and 8th grade boys in Middle Tennessee who want to reach their full potential as players are encouraged to try out.  Our plan is to select up to 25 boys and play a competitive schedule this summer, including daytrips in the mid-south and mid-west and tournaments in Atlanta and Amherst, MA. 

There is no cost to tryout.  For those boys who make the team, the cost will be $425 per player, not including travel expenses.

Our head coach is Rob Betchley, a high-school All-American from New York, two-time college All-American at Army, Hudson Valley Chapter Lacrosse Hall-of-Fame member, and very experienced youth lacrosse coach.  Rob will be assisted by several other accomplished lacrosse coaches, including the Groove’s first ever coach and long time Brentwood Lacrosse Club Coach Chris Shunk.
