Despite everyone's best efforts and intentions, we simply did not have enough teams signed
up to have the Nashville Jam this summer. Thanks to all of you who tried your best to make this happen.
I have learned that
I need to get an event like this on everyone's calendar many months--if not a year--in advance. So . . . please
note that we will try again next year and please mark your calendars for Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7, 2009. And know
that we will most likely have u15 and u17 divisions for next year's Jam.
I remain convinced that there is a need for a tournament like this, at this time of year, in this
part of the country so that all of us building programs in the mid-south and mid-west can have an affordable, convenient place
to play several good games at the start of the summer.
All that said, I still want to work with all of you NOW to schedule
some daytrip games in the coming weeks. We very much want to schedule 2 games per day on a Sat or Sun in two
or three of the following cities in late May through mid June: Cincinnati, Columbus, Louisville, Evansville, Memphis, Birmingham
and Chattanooga. If you will host us for a game in your town, I will work with you to get another team there as well,
so that we can all play each other and get at least two good games in one day. Of course, if two teams want to meet
and play us in Nashville, that will be easy for me to arrange.
The dates that we are looking for daytrip games are:
Sunday, 5/18
Saturday, 5/31
Sunday, 6/1
Saturday, 6/7
Saturday,
6/14
Sunday, 6/15
Please call or email me soon if you're interested in scheduling games on any one of these
days.
Thanks!
