U17 Team

Players and Parents,
Groove Lacrosse has set its roster, and we are excited you’ll be a part of our inaugural season! Our current roster includes players from 10 area high schools. We have an exciting schedule of games planned and more are beginning confirmed. I do need to receive a check for $300 per player made payable to “Groove Lacrosse” by Friday, June 13. Players and parents, I need to know if you have any schedule conflicts, so please review the schedule carefully and reply to this email. Please be specific about which games you will not be able to attend. Our first game against Cookeville High School Varsity is coming up fast. We will need to leave Nashville around 5:00 pm on Thursday, June 19. To keep the cost down per player, I’d like to carpool as much as possible. Parents, we have players coming from a number of areas around Nashville. If you are able to drive, let me know (including how many players you can take in addition to your son) and I’ll coordinate “carpooling”.

·        June 19 (7:00 pm game time) - Cookeville High School Varsity scrimmage, Cookeville

·        June 21, 22 (all day) - Tilt Tournament, Atlanta (Elite Teams from Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and the Carolinas). College coaches expected to be in attendance.

·        June 28 - Team Tennessee (Time TBD) – Nashville (USN campus). This is the Tennessee wide elite team

·        July 10 - MBA Summer League All-Stars, Nashville (MBA campus). We’ll play either the “14, 15, 16” age division or the men’s division.

·        July 12, 13 - Orlando Round Robin. Elite teams from around Florida including Jacksonville and Orlando. Still trying to schedule this event.

·        July 19 - Birmingham Round Robin (Time TBD).   Will play Bamalax, the elite team for Alabama. Also trying to schedule teams from Atlanta.

·        July 26 - Memphis Round Robin. Still trying to schedule this event

·        August 2, 3 - Summer Shoot Out, Atlanta (all day). Tournament sponsored by Loyal College, Baltimore and Harvard (both Division I schools). Saturday skills clinic with Loyal and Harvard head coaches, followed by scrimmages with either Team Georgia or Bamalax (or both). Tournament on Sunday with similar teams as the TILT Tournament. A number of college lacrosse coaches expected to be in attendance.

Cost To Play

· Registration fee = $300 per player.

· Travel Costs – The following expenses are based on estimates and may vary depending on a number of variables including willingness of parents to carpool, player’s willingness to share hotel rooms and amount spent on food. Birmingham and Memphis trips may become day trips. Players will only incur travel costs for the trips they take. The estimated costs are as follows:

Practice Schedule

Typically, practices will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday evening, with an occasional Saturday morning. Next week, we are taking a break due to schedule conflicts with our coaches. We’ll resume practice on Tuesday, June 17. All practices will begin at 6:00 pm and will be held at Crockett Park unless otherwise stated.
